‘… And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!’ So God granted him what he requested. (1 Chronicles 4:10 NKJV).
Increase,bless,these words signify that Jabez was in a much smaller place and desired to breakforth into something greater. He called out to God from His small place for a change. This prayer reminds me that God can enlarge your small place. He can enlarge, increase and make big whatever you commit into his hands. It does not really matter how or where you start from. As long as you are bold enough to cry out in a loud roar and ask for change, He’ll hear you.
Jabez was despised by his own mother who should have been his source of comfort. He however did not relent, but pressed on and called out for change.
As we are at the dawn of another year, wherever you find yourself now, I want you to cry, scream for increase, enlargement and then see how God will make all things beautiful in his time.
