I wonder if you have ever experienced this but it is just so startling how differently we get to comprehend something we had earlier understood in another light.
As I faithfully follow my bible in 90-days plan, passages I have read and meditated upon in the past are now coming out with a completely new meaning. One of such is the account of creation in the book of Genesis 1 and 2. In the beginning, everything was in a state of chaos.The earth was formless and empty.Darkness was over the surface of the deep but the Spirit of God was present. (Gen 1 v 2).God spoke and said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.Through the power of one word, creation came forth.
This power of confession also greatly applies to us today. It takes a declaration of faith to shape everything about us. If you contemplate on and verbalize the things you want to see,you will see the things you think, believe,and speak. If out of the abundance of your heart you meditate on good things, your mouth will also release those good things.
This brings to mind Jemima’s story.Jemima underestimated her ability to be truly loved by any man.She constantly believed and confessed she was no good;that the men in her life were out to feed on her.This is exactly what her returns were. Almost every man she dated used her.Things only started changing when Jemima became opened to the reality that negative thoughts and words bring forth negative results.She is now building positive relationships without the fear of abuse.
What are some of the things your mind is putting effortless energy into? Is your mouth speaking your difficult circumstances or is it calling forth things that are not as though they were? Even if things around you look far different from what you wish, keep your power confession.Preachers,teachers,coaches,motivational speakers and even people with no clue of the Word of God have all stressed the importance of positive thinking and speaking.
God is in your situation.At the appointed time, He will make all things beautiful. If you have lost hope and there is dryness; if your land has no rain,remember these words from Genesis 2: 5b-6 ‘…For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth,and there was no man to till the ground;BUT a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.’ God can send forth a mist from the earth to water your life where there is no man to help.
If your life is desolate and you are with dry bones,God can speak you back into order.Just as Ezekiel did and there was a noise,a rattling sound,and the bones came together,bone to bone,tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them,you can also prophesy God’s word into your arid places.
’’I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
And if you speak and the bones come to life but are with no breath, speak again. Ezekiel had to prophesy to the breath and say for a second time, ‘ This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’ It was only then that breath entered,the bones came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army. By the power of God and through faith confession Ezekiel spoke and it came to pass.
Use words to speak life into your life. You are the head and not the tail. If what you speak does not happen when you want,keep speaking.The power of life and death is in your tongue.Your bones can be strengthened again.Do not give up the fight.You shall live and not die.Envision the best.Believe the best.Confess the best.See the best!
