Revelation 3:8 (NIV)
‘I know your deeds. See,I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.’
Here we are in August, the eighth month in the calendar. In the Hebrew language, the number EIGHT (8) is ‘SH’moneh’.It is derived from the root ‘Sha’meyn’ meaning to ‘make fat’, ‘super abound’, and ‘cover with fat’. In other terms, it means ‘abounding in strength’, ‘superabundant fertility’,’oil’,etc.Isn’t it incredible to be alive in such a season of abundance,riches,open doors and new discoveries?
The number Eight(8)also comes before Seven(7),the number of perfection.Furthermore,Eight(8) is made up of Seven(7 ) plus (One)(7+1);Seven being the number perfection and One of unity and new beginnings. This simply implies that we are walking in the realm of yet another season of resurrection,regeneration and new births.
To further outline the importance of this month,we see that ‘In the beginning God created (Day 1) and brought into existence that which was not. ‘And on the Seventh (7) day, He rested.The Eighth (8) day therefore began a new chapter in the life of man. Everything which is has a season and a purpose.There’s a time for birthing,resting and new dimensions.It is essential we each in rprepare our hearts for each to fully benefit from the blessings it carries.(Eccl 3).
Still on numbers(7+1=8),we see in Exodus 20:3 that God is First (1),therefore the number 1 commandment is ‘You shall have no other gods before Me’. From this I can boldly say,this is also season God is reinforcing us by drawing us closer to Him. Wherever we erred, He is giving us the opportunity to repent and come back to our first love so he will make all things new and beautiful.
God is shifting some things. He is shaking the grounds beneath our feet and putting things back into shape to usher us into completely new realms. For those who have conceived and are heavily pregnant, God is preparing a new birth. The Spirit of God does not lie nor contradict itself. He is not a man to lie neither the son of man that He should repent (Num 23:19).When He says, He does! Only faith and obedience can and will help in any such transition.1 John 5:4 ’For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. God honours faith as little as a mustard seed.
Someone is asking, ‘who is she to say all this’? Well, know it takes a seed for a tree to become. It took one unsung man somewhere in the southern part of Africa to pen down one of the greatest worship songs ‘You are Alpha and Omega’-made popular by Israel Houghton. We knew nothing much of Obama before he became President of the United States of America. I don’t have to be ‘Archbishop Pastor, His Priesthood Highness Spiritual Leader Of The Angels, The Most Honourable Right and Wrong Rev ‘(as Pst Tim Femi Oladipo of http://envisionig-u.blogspot.com/ puts it)or Professor of Theology for God to release a word. 1 Corinthians 1:27-29 NIV says ‘But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world, the despised things—, and the things that are not— to nullify the things that are so that no one may boast before him. A quiet,yielded spirit and heart is all God requires! Even when we feel ‘unworthy’ in our own eyes,yet still He speaks.We only need to obey without questioning. Need I say more on this?
